pantera's cowboys from hellIt's been 20 years since the release of Pantera's landmark "Cowboys From Hell." To celebrate, they've put together a deluxe 3-disc collection, featuring the entire album remastered, a disc of demos and a third disc of live material, recorded during the ensuing tour.  But, the real treat of the collection is an unreleased Pantera song called "The Will To Survive."  Icon Fetch catches up with former Pantera bassist Rex Brown and gets his thoughts on the new set, and it's place in metal history.  He also gives his reflections on the loss of bandmate "Dimebag" Darrell, and updates us on his new project, Arms of the Sun.  Click below for the Rex Brown Pantera interview.

my friend Dans experience

quick rundown : I saw Damageplan, who was opening for Slayer in Moncton, NB, Canada back in... I think 2004. My 1st concert ever, as we got there, huge line outside, dogs, ppl being arrested, girls flashing, the whole kit a true metal show :D. As Damageplan started, we were still in the line along the building, it was easy to tell when they started, cuz the whole building seemed to shake and everyone in the line started getting rowdy.

We missed the 1st 2 songs, but then managed to get to the floor, and from there it was amazing. Anyone who's been to a concert knows how much energy comes from a live show. the crowd was going wild, they played a few songs and then, they stopped and Dimebag took the microphone and said "I see alot of Pantera shirts here, so this is for all you Pantera fans out here !" (Gotta say I felt special, since I was wearing my Pantera hoodie),

from what I remember, he also said something about not being suppose to play Pantera songs, but said f*** the others, we're playing it anyway, and started off by playing Walk, the mosh pit went nutz, it was awesome ! They played about 3-4 Pantera songs including Cowboys from Hell, then left the stage for Slayer. But 1 thing that made them so special, is you could see they really enjoyed themselves playing
